After 435 posts showing breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts homemade in our household, it is time for this chef and baker to put the camera away. I am not putting the apron, pots, pans and measuring cups away!!! I will be continuing the quest through my cookbooks while mixing, roasting, baking, tasting, and serving to my favorite taste testers on a daily basis.
What I have found through this pictorial journey, is that my passion for cooking and baking has only increased. I pay attention to plating the food, as it is true that we "eat with our eyes" first. The pleasure I have is in the preparation and the serving. The extra step in between -- the photography -- is no longer a priority, no longer enjoyable at this time.
It is bittersweet to look back at everything I photographed and think, "Oh yeah, I remember when I made that." or "That was the night the girls tried brussels sprouts for the first time." But, we will still have 435 more meals and memories made at the dinner table, even if they are not in pictures.
You are always invited for a meal -- it will just have to be at our home, instead of the screen!
Good-bye and thank you for your encouragement, recipes handed down, tips and appetites!
